Brooklyn Heights

Top - YesStyle, Jeans - Raven Denim, Bag - Hobo International, Sunglasses - Free People, Shoes - Steve Madden via Shop It To Me, Bracelet - Pree Brulee

Now that I stop and think about, how funny is it that I am considered an "east coast blogger" now. My move to the east coast happened within a blink of the eye . . . I haven't even had time to stop and reflect over the situation during the past two months. It's crazy how easily and quickly I feel that I have adapted to this other side of the country. I cannot imagine myself being anywhere else at the moment. I love how I can step right outside of my door and instantly feel a part of things. There is always something to do, something to eat, something to see at every corner I turn. I love the fast pace of things here. I love that I can walk EVERYWHERE and rely only on myself. I love that history is so deeply rooted here and there is always something to learn. I may originally be a born and bred California girl, but I think that deep down inside, my heart has always pointed east. And here I am, running between Philly and New York City like it's nobody's business.

These pictures were taken in Brooklyn Heights, one of my favorite parts of NYC. This place has a calmness that takes you away from the hectic vibe of Manhattan for a while. It reminds me of Philly quite a bit. A big city with a small town nature. A balance that I am so lucky to have such easy access to. Been thinking hard about the goals that I have for myself here; what I want to do in the future and how I can get to where I really want to be. It's an emotional challenge figuring this all out . . . but that is all just a part of the process. And this is how you learn and develop. I'm just seeing more good things to come.

Have a wonderful Monday peeps!

i'm loving the flares, as you've probably noticed from my blog. thank you so much for commenting! I was shocked to have a well-known blogger post something on my little blog. hope we can be friends! i think i read somewhere that you're from the SFV. is it true? because that's where I'm from!

vonilicious said...

I feel the same way about New York City. I just really feel in control when I'm north. I don't need anyone but myself to do what I want to do because everything is just so accessible and easy. Here in Florida things are so different and you need a car for everything. I really miss up north. I'm definitely a northern girl at heart.

I love the mustard colored top on you and the way you paired it with the jeans.

P.S. Brooklyn Heights is great, my mom lived there when she first came to the US.

Looove your outfit!
I love the yellow color of your top, and how it goes with your brown bag and ofcourse with your jeans (what doesn't go with jeans? :) )
Looove your sunnies as well! :D
I love the part - "I may originally be a born and bred California girl, but I think that deep down inside, my heart has always pointed east."
I'm the same, a born cali girl, but I always wonder about the east, and know few people at the east, of which I'm good
friends with, and while living in cali, I haven't made a good close connection with L.A. people here. Everytime I meet somone in cali,
they're either born in N.Y. or they lived there several yrs and moved to Cali.
Ugh, I reallly want to got o Ny, even since I was a teen. I hope one day, I can go to N.Y. and I know when I do,
I WILL FALL IN LOOOVE WITH NY!!! :D It just looks like a different atmosphere than from cali.
I love Cali, but, I feel like there's more in NY.
Well, I hope things work out for you, and I'm sure they will, you're taking charge of your life, and doing what you want. :)
