See Right Through Me

Blouse - STORETS, Leather pants - vintage, Wedges - 80%20, Necklace - from my sister, Bracelet - Les Jumelles

Another outfit from before Philly. Definitely a look worth repeating. My mom found these vintage leather trousers for me. They are PERFECT! I feel so chic in them! Work has been crazy busy this week. So ready for the weekend and so looking forward to my parents visiting me on Sunday, as well as getting to meet Bonnie from Flashes of Style. She arrives in Philly on Saturday for her summer styling internship at Urban Outfitters! Going to be so much fun having this girl in the city :) And she'll be living close to me, too!
Also dreaming about NYC right now, especially since my sister Nat is moving there soon. Can't wait to get my butt over there and fall back in love again with it like I did last summer. There really is no place like The Big Apple! So much is running through my mind right now . . . and a lot of really cool blog-related things are coming up, as well! It's going to be a fun ride on the East Coast let me tell ya!

By the White Fence

Crochet Vest - vintage from CALICO, Dress - Urban Outfitters, Shoes - 80%20, Bag - Hobo International, Braided Metal Hex Nut Bracelet - LUXLA, Turquoise Bracelet - vintage

Another one of those pre-Philly photo shoots that is just now making it's way into the blog-o-sphere . . . I am really going to miss this wilderness of green that surrounds my neighborhood back home. You can come here whenever you have the urge to get away from the monotony of Southern California suburbia and just be one with what is around you. It is the greatest escape ever.

I experimented with a purplish-smoky eye this day. What do you think? I think looks subtly sexy. Should I repeat the look? Oh, and this crochet vest from CALICO is just one of those vintage pieces that is such a rarity that you MUST snatch it up as soon as you lay your eyes on it. It fits right in with my Free People workplace, that's for sure. And do you like my little LUXLA bracelet? It's so pretty. I like it because it reminds me of how much I love nature. Yep yep. I love a lot of things.

Wee Little Things

Look at this little picture of Nat and I when we were just wee versions of ourselves. Taken in Malaysia way back when. I have no idea how old we are here. I must be like 8 or some awkward age like that. We were pretty stylish even back then weren't we? haha. I totally remember being obsessed with my coral body-conscious top. And my platform flip-flops. Totally inspired by the Spice Girls I was. I made sure to bring this picture with me to Philly. Aw, the beautiful memories. Hold on to them as tight as you can!

What Goes On in the Free People Web Studio!

Here is a little glimpse at what we are creating at the Free People web studio. It is here where all the magic happens . . . where all those beautiful images you see on the website are made . . . everything that makes you want to head online and just buy yourself some Free People threads. The vibe right now is young, fresh, and summery . . . that's always in the back of my mind when I'm putting together a look. Last week the main stylist was gone on a catalog shoot in Venice, Italy . . . so the creative art assistant Heather and I worked together to create looks! I think we did an amazing job! These are just a few of the outfits I helped style in the past two weeks. What do you think? Which looks are your faves? My fave is the one with the bright blue shorts and lace biker shorts underneath because I'd wear it in a heartbeat! And let me tell you . . . having Ruby Aldridge as our model for a whole day was so much fun! This girl is a true rock star . . . with an awesome personality to match! No wonder she's the jewel of every photographer's eye.

This week is going to be super busy at work . . . we have three days in a row of shooting for both web and wholesale starting tomorrow. This will be my first time styling wholesale . . . but I'm ready for it! Wish me luck :) Outfit post coming in the morning!

Cobblestone Dreams

Skirt - Anthropologie, Cargo Jacket - Volcom, Scarf - Forever 21, Bag - Hobo International, Boots - vintage

Last Sunday . . . exploring the food festival at the Italian Market in South Philly with Natalie and Kim, as well as some of Kim's lovely friends . . . then we went on to trek all the way to Old City by foot to rest our footsies in the park and check out the cute little boutiques in the area. This is how all weekends should be! With a little prancing on historic cobblestone streets thrown in here and there. My boots were made for getting around this city. Oh, and I came across this random garage that was selling lots of this and that on the way to the Italian Market . . . it was here that this vintage leopard printed coat caught my eye. In near perfect condition. I bargained the price down to $20. Sold. I am totally prepared for a Philly autumn now with this thing. In other good news, my sister Natalie will be moving to NYC really, really soon (details on why to come) . . . so expect to see me dashing back and forth between Philly and NYC quite often in the near future!

Today is another lazy Sunday after a jam-packed week . . . going to take it slow and easy :)

Pink Saturday

Pants - Forever 21, Sweater - White + Warren, Jacket - True Religion, Boots - vintage, Bag - Melie Bianco

This is me last Saturday . . . a day of apartment hunting . . . visiting Reading Terminal with Nat for some Indian food. . . a nice Philly rain . . . dinner of homemade pasta courtesy of Philly bestie Kim's boyfriend and then a trip to Chinatown in search of a karaoke bar that was too packed for us to enter . . . and then a trek to the historic Society Hill and Old City to finish off the night with old school ice cream cones (I got green tea flavor . . . so goooooood). Oh, and I was wearing my favorite hot pink pants. The weekend couldn't be more perfect, let me tell you that.

xoxo

Blue Bird

Skirt - Threadsence, Blouse - random, Jacket - True Religion, Boots - vintage, Bag - Melie Bianco, Turquoise ring - Threadsence, Elephant and vine ring - Forever 21

I've been in Philly for only a week, but already I feel like I know this city inside and out (well not quite yet, but I'm getting there). I've had a lovely time so far getting to know my co-workers at Free people this week, and exploring the city with my dear friend Kim. I know that I am going to fit in just fine. Now, if only finding a permanent place to live was just as easy as fitting in. Just took a late night stroll around Old City and Society Hill last night with Natalie, Kim, and Kim's boyfriend Brian (who is an amazing cook by the way) . . . the oldest parts of Philadelphia . . . and I cannot wait to go back during the daytime. The place is stunning, from the early American homes and the cobblestone streets that look like they came straight out of a picture book. Really a treasure of a place.

These pictures were taken my first Sunday out in Philly around Center City . . . where I got to meet Veronika from Tick Tock Vintage, and her friend Bernadette who is actually a designer at Anthropologie! Both were so lovely and showed me around the bustling city. It really was a beautiful day . . . sunny and warm. No better time and place than to be outside. I love this asymmetrical skirt. So so spring and so so me! It rained most of the day yesterday, but today it's going to be another full day out on the town with my sister and Kim! Can't wait!

And check this little bit on me on the Free People blog here!
