Magic Stripes

Top - Hallelu, Skirt - H&M, Necklace - Forever 21, Bracelet -vintage, Bag - Hobo International, Shoes - Steven Madden via Shop It To Me

When in doubt, always wear stripes. A motto to live by for sure. The thicker the better I think. My Hallelu striped top is my new love. And I love that it strays from the norm with beige rather than navy or blue. A touch more feminine I feel. This is what I wore to happy hour with my dear Philly friends Bonnie and Kim one super humid day not too long ago. We stopped by this historic street to snap our outfit pictures (Philly has the most beautiful streets in the world I swear) before heading off to chow down on pizza while we watched a few Sex and the City episodes on DVD. Hot summer nights are bliss (though also a little sweaty). Oh, and finally you get a better look at my new Hobo International San Fransisco bag. It carries everything and anything and it is essential. And what do you think about this lip color? I tried on Kim's fiery orange Revlon lipstick in Siren. Now I need to get this color for myself . . . it is so much fun!

101 Dots

Top - YesStyle, Shorts - Forever 21, Shoes - Steve Madden via Shop It To Me, Bag - Hobo International

Weekend wear made interesting with pretty pastels and all over polka dots. You see . . . dressing in the heat isn't all that bad. Not sure whether or not there really is 101 dots on this top, but it's nice to now that there possibly might be. And this San Fransisco bag by Hobo International is my new love. You'll have a better view of it on the blog soon my dears.

Gotta rest up! Have a busy week ahead of me before I can enjoy my first 4th of July weekend on the east coast!

I Love Food

I thought it would be fun to change things up every once in a while on the blog and start featuring one of my favorite things in the world . . . FOOD! And it makes total and complete sense to do so now that I am living in such a "foodie" city. There are amazing places to eat at every corner here in Philadelphia, and I have yet to try them all. One of my favorite restaurants here in Philly is Penang (117 N 10th St.) which is right in the heart of Chinatown. I actually visited the real Penang last spring. This island state of Malaysia is known for its spicy and eclectic food offerings. Malaysian food is one of my favorite types of foods, so when I first found this place I was basically in heaven. Nothing compares to the real thing, but this place gets pretty darn close. I love taking my friends here so they can get a taste of something exotic and fun! The Roti Canai (crispy pancake with curry dip) as a starter is a must, the Chow Kueh Teow (famous Malaysia stir fry noodle) is superb, and the Penang Kari Ayam (lemongrass chicken curry) is the perfect Malaysia curry I gotta say! Eating here always brings back memories of my favorite South East Asian country!

Spicy Tango

Top - Splendid, Skirt - Threadsence, Shoes - 80%20

There is something about hot pink that is just so . . . well, hot. Definitely one of my favorite colors of the season.

Spent this past weekend hitting up the bars on South Street with friends, having a good old time downing super huge slices of Lorenzo's cheese pizza while walking home and trying to dodge the after hour creepsters, chilling out by a kitschy pool in South Philly working on my tan, exploring the wonderful cobblestone streets of Society Hill, and watching fireworks from my friend's apartment. Now that I work full-time, I make sure to savor my weekends more than ever before! But now all that is left is checking everything off my important to-do list, and possibly (and finally) seeing Bridesmaids with friends. This will be a treat since I really haven't been to the movies in like 2 months! Happy lazy Sunday!!!

Yeah, I Know How To Color Block!

Blazer - H&M, Pants - Forever 21, Silk Shirt - vintage, Bag - Hobo International, Sandals - Wanted, Sunglasses - Forever 21

Color blocking to the max is a whole lotta fun, let me tell ya. I like it when I can stop traffic with my clothes. Been realizing that I've been playing around with color blocking mostly with pinks and oranges. I need to expand this variation pronto. Blue, red, yellow, green. I. Want. To. Wear. It. All.

Guess where I took these pictures? Why UCLA campus, of course! My old college stomping grounds . . . a.k.a. The Best School In The Universe. Gosh, I miss that place and all the happy memories / laughs with my roommates / dining hall shin digs. This beautiful walkway is one of my favorite parts on campus, and it is where I had my intensive Shakespeare class. The UCLA campus is actually one of the things I miss most about L.A.

City Strolls

Top - vintage from CALICO, Jacket - True Religion, Shorts - Zara, Shoes - Salvatore Ferragamo

The weather here in Philly is super bipolar and funny. Humid, then rainy, then cool, then dry. And a lot of the times it changes during the course of just a day. This can be a problem when getting dressed in the morning, for what feels comfortable earlier in the day most definitely doesn't work for the weather later on. But hey, I'll deal with it. Had an amazing past weekend hanging out with new friends and checking out the local scenes here in Philly :) I think I'm starting to figure out my so-called city haunts from Chinatown to Old City to the infamous South Street. There's always something to do here in Philly.

Sunset

Pants - H&M, Leather Jacket - True Religion, Chiffon Shirt - American Apparel, Shoes - Salvatore Ferragamo, Bag - Hobo International

These pictures really make me miss beautiful Southern California and the amazing sunset it had each and every evening (something I could always rely on). They
were taken on a peaceful evening in Rose Hills. I spent the day with my wonderful friend Jenny from back home who I miss dearly! We caught the last of the sun's bursting light. This was the day I spilled the beans to my closest friends that I was heading off to Philly. Crazy that this was over a month ago. Time flies fast when you're having fun!

Also, I want to wish my father and all the other amazing fathers out there a happy happy Father's Day! I don't know what I would do without my pops! Love you Dad!

Super Hot

Top - Hallelu, Pants - Forever 21, Shoes - Lela Rose for Payless, Bag - Hobo International, Sunglasses - 80's Purple

Strolling and exploring the fine Old City of Philadelphia on one of the hottest days ever. No better reason to bust out my spiciest pants ever. This place is still my favorite part of Philly so far (And yes, I really do need to repaint my toe nails).
