Evening Burst

Top - CALICO, Bra - H&M, Skirt - American Apparel, Shoes - vintage, Bag - Hobo International

How is it only Wednesday?? Say what? As if you can't already tell that this girl is ready for another weekend. In 9 days I'll be headed off to NYC for fashion week, and I can't help but count down the days. I've been dreaming and dreaming about going for years, and I finally am! So many exciting things planned that I can't wait to show and tell you about once they happen. How fitting are these blog pictures? Taken at the one and only Lincoln Center in NYC, just as the sun was setting and everyone around was headed off to the ballet. Definitely a delight to see. I can't wait to be a part of the spectacle that all the fashion people will make of this place come September. It's going to be a scene. Okay, enough blabbing. Bonnie and I are still trying to make up our minds about what to do for the long labor day weekend. We're thinking a quick trip to Boston would be a nice breath of fresh air? We need to make up our minds fast if we really want to make any of this happen! Will keep you posted!

Baubles and Things

Dress - White + Warren, Shirt - American Apparel, Bag - Hobo International, Sandals - Boutique 9

One of those amazing NYC afternoons that one never forgets. Frolicked around Central Park a few weekends ago with Natalie and Taisa after a fun-filled day of shopping and sipping on Green Tea Fraps from Starbucks. How do you like my stacked wrist? My dear friend Taisa from AMAHZING gifted me an armful of baubles that she helped design with her friend Adriana Unarreal. I love how much life and color they give any old outfit! I wear them basically every single day, and they never fail to catch the attentions of others. I'm always getting asked where I got them. Well, you can now get a set of your own at Object Mythology. Check it out!

I took part in a special little photo shoot at work one day featuring monochromatic looks. Everything I have on is Free People . . . why else would I be jumping for joy?

Lacey Bum

Top - YesStyle, Shorts - Shop Ruche, Bag - Rebecca Minkoff, Shoes - Wanted, Bracelet - Pree Brulee

This past week has been nuts. It's been work work work. I'm totally loving it, but I just can't ever get enough sleep! I finally got the chance to sleep in this morning. Going to try to take it slow today and revive myself for a possible night out, even if Hurricane Irene is making this seem like a not so good idea after all. But if worst comes to worst, there is always the plan of staying in with good company, a movie, boardgames, and some good wine. We're all set.

I've really been into lacey shorts lately. Particularly ones that pull-on. I already have three pairs! They make everything look and feel more fun. Okay, ciao! Everyone on the east coast, try to stay warm and dry this weekend. Hopefully this hurricane isn't as crazy as everyone says it is going to be.

Red Hot Chili Pepper

Top - We Are Rubbish, Shorts - Urban Outfitters, Bag - Hobo International, Sandals - Steve Madden, Sunglasses - Free People

So who is going to NYFW? I will be there for Fashion's Night Out, as well as all throughout the weekend. I'm so excited to finally be a part of everything going on during this crazy time, even if it is just for a few days. It's. Going. To. Be. So. Rad.

Went to my first Eagles game today after work with friends. I'm not really into football, but it was a good time for sure :) Beer, french fries, and burly men in tight pants running around on a field. What more could a girl ask for? It rained like crazy this evening and a hurricane is set to hit our neck of the woods this weekend. But that ain't gonna stop me from having a grand old time!

Just One of Those Days

Jeans - Sold Design Lab, Blouse - Free People, Jacket - True Religion, Sandals - Wanted, Necklace - Les Jumelles, Bag - Banana Republic, Ring - Threadsence

Last week was full of going out with the girls late into the night. A celebration of being young in the city. Why not? It was so much fun, but doing this while also having a full-time job can take its toll. I think I'm going to do the complete opposite this week and just relax instead. Stay in with a movie with a friend. Go to the gym. Drink more tea. My body is aching for it. Dressing for the way I feel is key, too. A pair of flares and my go-to jacket are easy and breezy. Wait, I did have some wine and cheese in the park last night with friends, but that was chill, so it doesn't really count as going out.

In other news, Philly had an earthquake yesterday while I was at work. Everyone started freaking out, especially those who have never been through one before. Being a born and bred Californian, I've been through plenty during my lifetime, but it still came as a total shock. We had to evacuate the building for a little bit, but nobody was hurt and no great damage was done. It made for quite an interesting day for sure! At least the whole company got free drinks and treats at the coffee shop as a result! Our work place really is the best :)

Test Shoot

I just wanted to share with you guys the result of a little Free People test shoot I styled a few weeks back. Our model for the day was Madeline, and this was her first ever photo shoot ever! Can you believe she's only 16? With this shoot, I was trying to bring to life my own vision of the Free People girl. I brought out her rocker side, her modern bohemian side, her quirky side, her preppy side, and her super romantic side. What do you guys think? I had so much fun working with the Free People photographer on this shoot, which we all did just for fun and to try out some new things! It was a total blast! My favorite look is the first one. It came together on a total whim and it literally rocked. So Alice Dellal.

Your Babydoll

Dress - Queen's Wardrobe, Shoes - Bronx from Crossroads, Bag - Hobo International

The babydoll shape is one of my favorite silhouettes for dresses. I like the hem a bit shorter, you know . . . to show off a bit of leg. I like to call it flirtatious dressing. And it's so easy to wear for summer.

Spent this past weekend hanging out with my sister and friends around Philly. It was seriously great :) Oh, and it just started raining like crazy outside.
