If I had to choose one major style influence that has impacted own personal style preferences, then I think I've just gotta go with Janis Joplin all the way. She was the true queen of rock and roll. Woman's got lungs for days with the perfect raspy quality that not even the most folksy of singer/songwriters have a hard time copying. Janis was a wild child, a little rough around the edges and a rebel through and through. All this showed through her big smile and the clothes on her back. All over lace. Wide bell sleeves. Velvet flares. Over-exaggerated head wear. Big old hair that didn't like staying in its comfort zone. Those famous round sunnies. She exuded the age of rock and roll in every form. From mindset to her physical projection of who she was, she radiated soul, youth and the free sailing state of mind. Janis knew what was up. Just looking at Janis gives me a little jolt to be more carefree and undeniably risque. And maybe a little bit more loud. There was no such thing as being a wallflower in Janis's world. She tore the walls down with that voice and attitude. Giiirl stole a piece of my heart. Hell yea.
