Splash

Forever 21 dress, vintage vest, Converse sneakers, Moni Moni bag, Vanessa Mooney necklace

What an appropriate color combination for after the long fourth of July weekend. Red, white and blue. I've always been a little scared to throw together a head-to-toe Americana look, thinking it was too in-your-face and obnoxious, but sometimes you can't help but be in the mood to represent your roots. Back in Philly after one of the best NYC weekends ever I must say. My move to NYC has been keeping me extremely busy these past few days. I've been boxing up all my clothes and shoes, donating extra things I don't need and I still need to tackle my the task of taking apart my Ikea bed without totally breaking it. I still can't believe that this is my last week at Free People. So much to wrap up in the next four days work-wise, on top of a going away dinner and an event I'm hosting with Glamour magazine and FUZE ice tea in the heart of Philly. This week will be quite the whirlwind. I'm crossing my fingers that I don't fall behind and start to procrastinate on the whole packing situation. So far so good.

Thank goodness my friend Tanya and I signed the lease on our new apartment in Williamsburg this past weekend. It's adorable and is in such a great location; just one block from the subway and surrounded by so many different restaurants and coffee shops. I'm so happy that my living situation has turned into something fabulous, and I'll be living with one of my favorite people from the city, a former Cali girl herself. I really see our new place turning into quite the home sweet home. Everything is falling together perfectly. I got to explore so much of Brooklyn on Saturday by foot, and I'm so excited to keep finding new regular spots to bring my friends to when they visit. Bring it on Brooklyn :)
