One of my very last shoots taken in Philadelphia, and one of the best weekends ever catching up with friends I haven't seen in a while and doing a little Fishtown exploring. I think this was the weekend I was waiting to hear back about whether or not I got the job I interviewed for in NYC, so I was a little on edge, but at the same time I wanted to completely enjoy myself no matter what the outcome was going to be. I always appreciated Philly for being being extremely chill and laidback. Always Philly willy nilly. Anyways, this dress is one of my favorite vintage finds. At $40, it was a little pricier than I normally pay for vintage (you're talking to the super duper bargain thrifter here), but it was well worth it. My friend who was with me at the vintage store this day told me that the dress made me look even taller and lankier, in a really good way, which was surprising since it kind of hung like some sort of mumu contraption on the hanger, all lonely in the corner. But I swooped that up and claimed it as mine, and life has been dandy ever since. Never before has a Mexican embroidered dress felt so connected to my soul as much as this one. It speaks loads to me. And makes me want to take a colorful trip to some of the most beautiful and luscious parts of Mexico. Gosh I miss traveling. Gotta get back into that soon.
