Nicholas K // NYFW SS14

Kicked off NYFW front row at the Nicholas K show on Thursday morning (at 9am!). One of my favorites so far! The shapeless and airy fits, layer upon layer upon layer of soft fabrics, neutrals played up with dramatic pops of earthy graphic prints. I noticed the 90s inspired flyaway cowl necklines and bungee chord detailing and it brought me back to a state of minimalistic, utilitarian chic that so stand out to that decade. The runway music was an intense conglomeration of drum beats that went straight through your chest and along with every model's foot steps. It was like the models were on the hunt for some sort of spiritual guidance and they walked with a purpose and a heavy stare. It really felt like an experience at this show. And the clothes just moved so darn well. Nicholas K, you were phenomenal!
