Day two was equally as fabulous as day one, and thank goodness . . . a lot more chill, as well! Caylee and I decided to skip our morning shows for brunch with the Nasty Gal crew in Nolita. Always down for a reason to catch up with old blogger buds and make new ones. With our tummies full of mimosas (maybe a little too many), we trekked back up to Lincoln Center for Rebecca Minkoff and Nicole Miller, two labels that I love because I find them completely wearable. The epitome of the easy and cool dressing of the on-the-go NYC girl. Tons of mix and match pieces that long to be worn on those long days where you don't have time to change before going out at night. A little bit proper. A little bit rock and roll. Flirty skirts and baseball jackets. Embellished cocktail dresses and leather moto vests. A smart balance of day and night. Always ready to face any sort of situation. There wasn't one look that I wouldn't have worn myself or tried reinterpreting. That's the beauty of fashion week. Seeing a designer's vision and opening yourself up to something new, or taking bits and pieces from a collection and correlating it with points of your own personal style. It pushes you to get creative with your everyday dressing.
Ended the day with burgers and tater tots with friends before meeting up with Natalie and finally letting go at the i-D party. Gotta love a room full of speakers and good electro jams. Was shooting video footage throughout the day and am in the midst of getting a video recap of fashion week done for Adore Me. I'll share it with you all here once it's ready to go! Fashion week is full of no sleep. All work but in the moment it feels like play. And every day you force yourself up early to do it all over again. You say you hate it, but deep down inside your love the adrenaline rush of it all. It's quite funny actually. A continuous 6 days of this was nearly more than enough to handle, but we got through it all like troopers. An accomplishment indeed. Fashion and friends is always a win win situation in the end.
