This weekend my sister and I got to test drive something super cool and brand new in the world of social media. We got the chance to test drive Dooble, a social app made to take you and your friends offline to share new experiences. It's a really cool concept! The way Dooble works is that it signs you up via your Facebook page, and you can invite your friends on Facebook to join the Dooble community. Dooble is a great way to take the pressure off deciding on something to do and someplace to go with friends. I definitely have those days when I'm texting for nearly an hour back and forth with a friend about 20 different potential brunch spots or bars, or just a random day activity that we've never done before. A new brunch spot, drinks with friends, concert, bowling? Dooble saves so much time and the best thing is that the place it chooses out for you and your friend is completely a surprise until after you make the plans set in stone. It takes you out of your regular routine. This is especially nice in a big city where there are endless options, and it's sometimes easier to go with what you already know. The app has an amazingly well curated list of spots in your city, so you will be sure to end up someplace really well worth the luck of the draw. And who knows, you may end up finding a brand new local hangout or hobby in the process!
And because the app involves those you know on Facebook, what better reason to reconnect with an old Facebook pal you haven't hit up in a while and who just moved to your neighborhood? Another great thing my sister and I realized is that because Dooble took the pressure off of finding a really rad place to hangout, we got more free time to spare to get ready, put our outfits together or do some last minute errands before heading out the door.
Dooble sets up a plan for you with just one touch. Everyone prepays through the app so there’s no fuss, no hassle and plans are better likely to go through! The whole process is super simple! You get to set your preferences for your potential day or night adventure, choose who you want to meet and a request will be put through. Once your friend confirms, Dooble takes care of the rest and a reservation is made for you and your friend, and the secret spot is revealed!
Natalie and I ended up having brunch at Tutu's in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Bushwick happens to be really close to where I live, and Tutu's just happens to be one of my favorite places to go out to dance at night. But I've never been for brunch before and I was super excited because I've heard a lot of good things. It actually reminds me of one of my favorite brunch spots back in Philly. Super homey and eclectically decorated with differently shaped vintage frames covering every wall, some with a picture, some without. It has the air of delicious home-cooked French toast by day and cool bluegrass music and whiskey by night. Oh, and did I mention that those who use Dooble get the best seat in the house? Look at how cute our little nook was!
