Our third day in Stockholm was quite a busy one! Bopping around the city to new parts we haven't yet discovered for shows via public transportation really was quite the trip. We learned later in the day that there was a "fashion bus" escorting all the show attendees from destination to destination. But, oh well. It's actually better that we did the trek the real life way, getting to know the city better and better with every wrong turn and each wrong subway stop.

The shows we saw inspired the more minimals sides of us! Stockholm, known for its straightforward yet modern take on design made a strong impression at all the shows we attended, especially at Filippa K, Whyred and Carin Webster. Then there was Alice Fine Decay and Menckel that focused on dreamy prints leaning more towards a soft psychedelia (think pastel tie dyes and cloud prints).

Then there was the Cheap Monday show which took place at a sports complex. This runway show/presentation literally made a splash as art student meets punk-esque models took their shoes off and went for a swim and play with the pool toys. The soundtrack included Britney Spear's Born to Make You Happy and Blink 182's All The Small Things. Now that's a throwback to junior school for ya.

We even got to work in a menswear show, Erik Bjerkesjö, who blew us away with his militaristic menswear styles with a futuristic air. The male models walked the finale drenched in water from head to toe. Totally unexpected, but who said fashion had to make sense?

With perfect weather nearly our entire time in Stockholm, our trip couldn't have been better. We just happened to have a bunch of friends in town (one visiting family, one just recently located from New York City, and another visiting from London). So every night ended with good food, good beer and good laughs. If you ever end up in Stockholm, and are looking for some of the best Thai food, then head to Elefantpojken. It's mind-blowing. And when they mean spicy, they mean SPICY. Taverna Brillo was also one of our favorite late night hangouts. The back bar is the best because there are cute Swedish bartenders, sick old school rock tunes and a good selection of beer. The night we went it was like a little piece of Williamsburg in Stockholm. What more does a NYC-loving American in Sweden need?? We also randomly at at TGI Fridays one day when we running low on time and had to dash to a show. Ooops. Still good though.

Here's a video from our day 3 in Stockholm adventure, taken with the Videofyme app!
