Home Is Wherever I'm With You

MinkPink kimono from Bloomingdales, LOVE NAIL TREE tee, Spell and the Gypsy pants (shop similar HERE)

Lounging calls for an ultimate devotion to kimonos and earthily printed pants. I've been in a mood to sit back, wake up earlier on the weekends to catch up on reading . . .  maybe even write a poem or two . . . watercolor a painting to put up on my wall. I can't remember the last time I've done these things. One of the main struggles of living in NYC is the one-sidedness of urban life. Work work work. Every day is task driven. Every day a job needs to get done, but its never fully finished, so the next day you drill your way through it again. Sleep is usually no more than 5 hours a night for me. The city is beautiful but it moves so fast, sometimes it's hard to see it for what it is from the outside again. I want this to be the summer of appreciating what NYC has given me, and for me to give it something back, while at the same time letting my mind wander a bit more and not have to feel rushed into the next thing as much. Maybe now I can have time to make my own coffee in the morning and really get to taste it. Maybe start a conversation with someone on the subway and not just leave it at that.

F21 Runway To Real Way // All Around The World

Forever 21 overalls, blouse and headband

Teaming up with powerhouse Forever 21 again to bring you guys my interpretation of some of my favorite hot-off-the-runway trends of this season. There were too many good trends that caught my eye, some that seemed a little far out but that I knew I want to find a way to include in my daily routine in a least the most subtle of ways. But let's start with something that feels undeniably spring. When the weather gets warmer, the first idea that jumps into my head is TRAVEL. A lust to get out of the house and all around the world. I saw prints on the runways of Valentino, Emilio Pucci, Opening Ceremony, Dries Van Noten and many more that reminded me of my childhood trips to Southeast Asia, the movies I watched about African safaris and the dreams I had about Russian Mongolian princesses or something else just as culturally extravagant and grand. Not to mention my obsession with the colors of the food in India and the embroidered textiles of Bangkok's floating market. I want to know it all, and I think this naturally comes through in my dressing.

Thank goodness Forever 21 has got me covered in all things that give off the feeling of a well travelled summer to come. Exotic prints and wild colors ignite the thirst of my inner explorer. I think everyone has a little bit of this inside of them. Why not dress the part full out every now and then?

MINKPINK x Bloomingdales Event // #NatalieLovesMinkpink

Yesterday Natalie hosted a MINKPINK day shopping and styling event at the Bloomingdales in Soho and I played photographer. It was a celebration of the new spring MINKPINK styles, a bright and playful collection of little dresses and mix and match separates. MINKPINK is always a go-to for summer loving dressing. Thanks so much to our friends who stopped by and the lovely shoppers who wanted to get their pictures taken in their favorite pieces from the new collection.

15 Again

LULU*S dress, Threadsence necklace, Modern Vice boots

This week has been sort of landmark one during my time in NYC. I've decided to take a huge step in a direction that seems so foreign to me and also a little scary, yet also feels so extremely familiar and welcoming. Really, there is nothing to fear but fear itself. I actually feel like I'm about to embark on an adventure that will float upon the most freshest breath of air. I feel like its finally time to really do me. I've explored so many places and things in my early twenties so far, and have come to find a good place for my heart and soul here in NYC. I don't want to waste a moment not nourishing this place and letting it grow. Like the flowers on my dress, there's no such thing as not enough space to fill with what you love deepest in your heart. This endless space conquers all.

Maybe this means more time in California (these pictures were taken in Palm Springs during Coachella) or maybe this means getting to know some place completely new. Or maybe it means staying right here and getting closer to the known in the hopes of finding something unexpected. No matter what it is or where it will be, my heart wants to grab it. Doesn't yours?

Charmer

Free People crochet dress, Filily by Luiny arm cuffs and necklace and gold rings, Vanessa Mooney thunderbird ring and black stone ring and silver cuff, Virgins Angels and Saints spiked silver cuff

A little mid-week inspiration to give you all a little push to never let go of what you know your path is meant to be. Embrace the unexpected, embark on adventure and never doubt your gut. I've learned quite a few things these past few weeks about myself and the world that surrounds me in the moment, past and future. Sometimes you just gotta give in to that first pang and let it take on a life of its own.

Throw your dreams into space like a kite, and you do not know what it will bring back, a new life, a new friend, a new love, a new country.
