Long lost photos from my very last day in Vancouver! How did I forget these?! Spent the morning before my flight home in the Gastown district of the city. Cobblestone streets, quaint coffee shops and row after row of classic brownstone buildings. It was photo inspiration heaven around every corner (you know me and my camera). Kiara took me to some really lovely spots this morning.
We indulged in a savory poached egg brunch at Nelson the Seagull, a delicious bakery spot. Smell the fresh bread already? With all breads baked fresh daily in house, this place is where you want to go to get your carb on. Get anything on your bread, and if you want something more sandwich-y, they have that, too. How about some eggs, roasted mushrooms and butter on some freshly baked artisanal bread? So lovely. This breakfast spot is large and lovely, perfect to find a quiet nook to catch up on some work since the place is quite large and decorated with long wooden tables.
Afterwards, we had an extra strong coffee at Revolver. This super hipster spot has a very simple way they go about making coffee. But it’s good. Their coffee menu is updated weekly from roasters in North America and they always go through a blind taste test each week. Their regular roasts are dripped, making for some fabulously bold tastes.
THEN, right before I had to head off to the airport, we enjoyed some tea and cake at Greenhorn Cafe. A delicious array of desserts and teas made for the perfect way to treat ourselves before calling it a day.
So happy that I got an up-close-and-personal tour of the beautiful Vancouver. Probably wouldn't have ventured there quite so soon if it wasn't for Kiara, but I'm happy that it did work out this way!
