Ready For Fall Yet?

The heat here on the east coast is really starting to be too much. Contemplating everyday whether or not to wear a cute outfit because it will most likely keep you stifled and sweaty all day can be a major problemo. When is it all going to end? I'm at the point where I'm already in fall fashion mode. All this above makes me so super excited. I can't wait to layer everything in sight! Color blocking with monochromatic wools. Leopard with stripes. Accessories to the max. It's going to be great. Are you as ready for fall as I am? I just miss being able to wear a jacket or blazer over things. Weather man, this is really all I ask for. Thanks.

Watermelon Drops

Dress - ShopSosie, Belt - Urban Outfitters, Bag - Rebecca Minkoff, Sandals - Wanted, Bracelet - from Bali

I wear these sandals way too much. Must find a new summer sandal to wear and tear up until I can wear them no more. I'm a city stomping girl . . . always walking everywhere. A girl like me also needs a ton of summer dresses, and this from ShopSosie is just perfect. Super lightweight, super flirty, and super twirl-able. Doesn't it also look like it tastes extremely decadent? I'd eat it if I could.

You've seen this bag before on the blog. My one and only love, as well as the most bright red piece in my wardrobe. A statement-making bag is another summer essential to add to the list. Other summer essentials? Movies in the park and a glass of good chilled wine. MMMMmmmm. How are you all spending your Saturday. I am taking mine super slow. Curling up with a good book at the park sounds pretty delightful right now.

Floral Dreaming

Dress - ModCloth, Bag - Melie Bianco, Shoes - Steve Madden via Shop It To Me, Ring - Threadsence

Summer heat in the city calls for long and floaty things. You know, things that actually allow you to breathe. This dress is the bees knees when it comes to keeping me cool.

In other news, here are a few things that I need to do before this summer is over:

Go to the beach (Can't believe I still haven't done that here)
Update my playlist (any recommendations?)
Clean out my closet (like really clean out my closet)
Get back to my tradition of keeping to my summer reading list (I used to be such a bookworm!)
Sleep in longer on the weekends (Too much stuff to do!)
Take a long nap in the park (Because it's so friggin nice)
Ride a roller coaster (Because it's been too darn long since I really screamed)
Watch the final Harry Potter movie

That's all that I have for now!

Oh, and make sure to check out my little guest editor feature on Fashiolista blog here!

The Weekender

Top - Romwe, Shorts - Zara, Bag - vintage Bally, Sunglasses - Free People, Shoes - Steve Madden via Shop It To Me

How was your weekend? I spent mine in NYC, and even though it was humid and hot to the max, it was still a lot of fun! Walked through Central Park in a light rain, found a bad-ass Malaysian restaurant in Chinatown, had our destinies laid out for us by a lovely little man on the street at night, relaxed in an air-conditioned Barnes and Nobles with magazines and books by Jhumpa Lahiri, stimulated our eyes at the MET, and made our tummies full with hamburgers and fries from Shake Shack. Oh, and just to let you know, the Trader Joe's near Union Square is full of super amazing looking men doing their grocery shopping. Weekends are the best!

These images were taken a few weeks back, during a wonderfully slow weekend right here in Philly. Bonnie and I had a picnic in the park. We shared my favorite Vietnamese lemongrass tofu sandwich and snacked on cherries and celery sticks with hummus. It was the perfect way to spend a lazy Sunday. Yes, indeed.

South Philly Sweet

Dress - H&M, Bag - Threadsence, Boots - vintage

Wearing one of my sweetest dresses on a grungy, bared down street in Philly right off of crazy cray cray South Street with a gorgeous sky reflecting the sunset in the background with two of the coolest girls (Bonnie and Kim) in town all ready for a night out. Really, it can't get any better than this. Go a little farther South of South Street, and you'll come across a bunch of great restaurants and bars with a cool, young vibe. But I love heading farther up north to Northern Liberties and Fishtown for a good night of dancing. Really, all parts of Philly are growing on me and there is still so much more to do and explore!

Oh, and these are my vintage boots that are basically worn down to shreds. I need to get these babies resoled because I don't think I could ever replace them. I've trekked the world in these things and they totally tell my story. It's basically The Sisterhood of the Traveling Boots in my case. In other news, my hair is finally lightening up. Thank you shampoo and sun for doing my locks good :)
