Another one of those dig deep for gold flea market trips. This time in Lambertville, New Jersey. I think what I really wanted to take home with me the most was this little baby that was chilling in the shade by the tomatoes. Cutest. Face. Ever. We all gathered around and cooed and made those annoying kissy faces we all make whenever a baby is in the vicinity. But because the baby already had a loving mother, I settled for the next best thing. A sweet little rainbow-inspired crochet pullover that I cannot wait to bust out in the fall. A successful flea market trip indeed.

Dress - Free People, Bag - Urban Outfitters, Shoes - Anthropologie, Bracelet - Vanessa Mooney

Those hot summer days call for hot little mini dresses. Too bad I already feel fall creeping its way back into the air. I must find a way to put as many of my little summer dresses onto my body within the next few weeks. This is a lot of pressure. Jeez.

Meandering this epically proportioned river crossing mass of epicness never gets old. Snapped back in July 2010. Just reminiscing. That's all.

Romper - H&M, Necklace - Vanessa Mooney, Hat - Urban Outfitters

Always simple. Always cool. Always hanging out on the fire escape. Just the two of us. But for realz. Imagine if I really had a twin?!? Freaky thought man.

Wednesday is here again. Decided that I am going to spend Labor Day weekend in NYC, even though I promised myself to swear off the Big Apple for the whole month of August. Oh well. It's basically September already. Brooklyn, Soho, and all my favorite city spots are calling my name once again. And of course, September is a big month for NYC, with fashion week and all. I have a fun little surprise coming up that involves all the hype surrounding Fashion's Night Out. I'll let you guys know more soon! Then London and my birthday! Going to be a crazaaaay month. Can't. Wait.

POISONED FRUIT // Photoshoot with Brigette Part 2

And then she took a bite of that forbidden fruit. And it was dramatically downhill from there. But still she looked beautiful. Brigette is wonderful at portraying sudden fairytale deaths. And all in good spirit. So happy I got to capture it all.

Photography and Styling - me

Yeah, so I thought I was a little bit over the whole Alexa Chung / peter pan collar world takeover thing, but I take that back. I mean she was the original reason why I chopped my locks off last September. These videos of her for Vero Moda's fall campaign reaffirm my love for everything Alexa. Plus, we have the same dance moves. Always Chunging it out.

Dress - Line & Dot, Sweater - American Apparel via Beacon's Closet, Bag - Urban Outfitters, Shoes - Anthropologie

Was feeling the multi-textural vibes to the max this day. I love that this top looks decadent enough to eat and makes me feel like a ballerina or fairy of some sort. I've eyed it at American Apparel last year but never wanted to throw down the $80+ of dough for it. Thank goodness I waited it out, since I snagged it up at Beacon's Closet for only $16. I watched a lady man-handling it for what seemed like 2 hours before she put it back on the rack. That's when I went in for the kill. Yeah, that's right. It's mine. ha.

Happy Monday ya'll. But I am looking forward to the long Labor Day weekend for sure.

I can't ever get enough of a good fall boot. They go with everything and can stand the wear and tear of all weather conditions like a champ. From a basic black Chelsea-style boot to an edgy cutout bootie, Shopbop's got an amazing selection. I'm salivating over too many at the moment. Not that I really need anymore to add to my ever growing collection. But how divine are those burnt red Madewell babies? Too divine.

“And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, just as things grow in fast movies, I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer.”

- F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby

This quote sums up my feelings of summer. It is already nearing the end of August and September is creeping around the corner. It really is unbelievable how fast time flies. This summer has been an amazing one spent with old friends and a bunch of new ones. Last summer was full of new experiences, as well: a brand new coast, a brand new city, a brand new job, a brand new home. It was all a whirlwind and all of a sudden I feel so settled and so at home here in Philly. I have learned so much since last summer. So much has happened that has made me believe that dreams really do come true and that there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. I've learned to take things as they come and appreciate all that I have. And to share this all with the best people in my life . . . I couldn't ask for anything better. Even those horrible east coast humid days when I felt like my skin was melting away, I felt perfectly at ease and that is exactly how it should be. No questioning, no complaining. Just living.

These pictures were taken early this summer and I randomly stumbled across them again just recently. They were taken on a perfect summer day, full of long bike rides, a heavy All-American brunch, and falling asleep in the shade. And then doing it all over again. So much is captured in these pictures that fully portray what summer means to me. Enjoy!
