Finally another photo diary from my last trip back to California! These were taken the first day, where I spent the day catching up with my parents and trolling around my favorite old haunts in Santa Monica, Venice and Malibu. That blue sky never gets old. It was over 80 degrees when I arrived, and I was forced to take my black tights off as soon as my plane landed. Not that I minded, of course. Santa Monica is usually a pretty busy place, but it's nothing compared to NYC. And Malibu, well it's a ghost town in comparison. But the feeling of quietness and unlimited openness was refreshing to say the least. All I could hear were the crash of the waves, the seagulls and the swift passing of cars along the highway that gives you the best view of what California has to offer. That sunset. Gosh I miss it. And the saltiness in my hair at the end of the day. Gonna miss that, too. It was nice spending the day with my parents, who I only get to see a few times a year now since I moved to the east coast nearly two years ago. Gosh, it'll be 2 years in May. I can't believe it. If only I could time travel between coasts anytime I wanted, then life would be so much easier.
