Vintage dress, Banana Republic coat, Volcom hat, Dr. Martens boots, Leibeskind bag, Vanessa Mooney necklace
THIS DRESS. Another one of those fall-all-over-myself-to-get-in-my-hands-after-spotting-from-afar-purchases from a "secret" vintage warehouse for only $15. It was hanging on a rack all by its lonesome with a bunch of drabby black dresses. "It will be mine" in the way of Wayne Campbell of Wayne's World (one of my favorite movies, by the way) was basically running through my head. It basically needed mending at every seam, but I didn't care. I love bringing something special and outstanding back to life. This baby is up and running again, and got me through my second day of NYFW. I am pretty sure this dress has made its rounds from music festivals in the 70s. I wonder what sort of darling sported this back in the day? I hope that maybe there is a little bit of me in her. Or a little bit of her in me. I like to dream up fantasies with the vintage finds I come across. Why not always find a reason to tell a story? Adds to the intrigue.
My second day at fashion week was much more chill. Spent the morning photographing a special project outside in the snow before heading to Lincoln Center and then Central Park to play in the snow until we couldn't feel our toes anymore. How stunning is Central park in the snow? There really is nothing more magical in the city than the day after a snowfall here. The park transforms itself into something otherworldly.
