I'm a creature of movement. I love music and I can't help but dance to
it. No matter where I'm at. No matter what time. Give me some jams and
you'll be sure to find me busting a move. I wore this outfit out for a
night of NYFW parties and decided to dance on the rooftop in it the
following morning. It was a beautiful day after a night of snowstorm
yuckiness. This disco-ball approved tunic from Evil Twin is quite the
scene stealer on the dance floor I must say. And so is this fuzzy little
friend that is my jacket. And thank goodness for the stretch in these Juliette super skinny jeans by Hudson. They are now my go-to pair of back skinnies. The best for dancing the night away or dancing the morning away on snowy rooftops.
Music right is the one thing that really let's me feel totally at ease and able to escape the stresses of everyday life. I can play the same song over and over again and get totally lost in it for hours. I sometimes catch myself dancing in my seat at work, bobbing my head way too much or tapping my feet so much that I once had a co-worker IM me about it because it was "distracting". Oops. So many memories rush through my head because of a certain song. A certain feeling that I can't help but keep wanting to feel over and over again. It's all quite a trip and I know that all of you can relate, so I kind of feel stupid writing about it as if it were some new, profound discovery. But sometimes we forget how much it means to us when we step outside of ourselves and look down at the overall picture of our lives. If we break it all down to the little moments, we will discover how much music really affects our emotions and vice versa with each one. When you are all alone and want to dance in the living room in your underwear, just do it. If you are listening to some slow piano ballads and feel like shedding a tear, then let them shed. Feeling roudy??? Blast the garage punk and freaking freak out man. Making our emotions more tangible through music is a beautiful thing. Been listening to a lot of Foxygen, Electric Guest, Citizens! and Unknown Mortal Orchestra lately. Check them out!
