Rainy Day in the West Village

American Apparel blouse, Vintage denim skirt from Fox & Fawn (my favorite consignment store in Brooklyn), Maker's Workshop necklace, Vintage boots, Free People sunglasses, Jeffrey Campbell backpack

I miss those steamy mid summer rains. They were quite comforting to say the least. Reminding me of my childhood vacations to Southeast Asia where a tropical rainstorm was a daily occurrence. This tropical printed top is a reminder to schedule a trip back to my favorite Southeast Asian countries soon, and to relive those wild adventures that basically sums up life out there.

Still loving the round sunglasses trend as much as I did during the summer. Shop round sunnies:

If I Can Paint The Sky

G-Star RAW Arc 3D Tapered skinnies, Lovers + Friends tank, Vintage vest, Natalie & Dylana Suarez x Modern Vice boots, American Apparel hat, Vintage Salvatore Ferragamo purse, 2 Bandits leather wrap bracelet, Boera cuff and knuckle ring

Been listening to Phantogram's two new singles repeatedly for the past week basically. Seriously one of the most electrifyingly chill bands. Check them out on Soundcloud here. Pulled this look together on a whim. I finally found the most perfect pair of blue jeans ever I'm proud to say, in the form of these G-Star RAW Arc 3D Tapered skinnies. This style has twisted seams and inseams to create an asymmetric fit that “turns” around the leg. This architecturally inspired pant, cut using paper patterns that create depth and volume, is unique to G-Star. What I love most about the fit of these skinnies is the way that it hangs a tad slouchy below the waist, and it still looks super slimming. Baggy in all the right places. Not many denim companies have mastered this yet. Great job G-Star! paired it with one of my favorite graphic tanks from my babes at Lovers + Friends!

Just finished up a long day shooting some look book images for Modern Vice with Natalie and our friend Mirella who was our model for the day! Natalie and I both styled the shoot. The images we got were STUNNING and I cannot wait to share!

Free People in Tokyo

Eeeppp! Got super excited to see all the maxi lengths featured in the upcoming October Free People catalog, shot in Tokyo, one of my dream destinations! I remember I was still working at the company when the catalog team traveled to Tokyo for this. Le sigh. Someday I will get to experience this city, too! What I'm dying over the most? That earthy, tapestry patterned long coat in the last picture. It's absolutely fantastic, words cannot even describe. Looking forward to seeing the entire catalog, out on Monday. Make sure to check it out on the Free People website! I have a fun little collab coming up soon with Free People that I will be letting you all know about soon! xo

Itty Bitty Denim Jumper

Vintage denim jumper, All ABout Eve plaid shirt, Maker's Workshop necklace, Vanessa Mooney cuff, Vintage Salvatore Ferragamo purse, Natalie & Dylana Suarez x Modern Vice Chloe boots

Wahooooo. NYFW posts are done and on to some new content, some still leftover from summer but whatever. I'm officially 26. And I'm also officially no longer have any inch of summertime sadness lingering in my brain. Fall mode is fully in gear and I feel absolutely fantastic about it. Work has been really busy, but I have my hands in so much and I love this freedom. Model castings. Creative direction. Product placements. Social media pitches. SEO. I've been learning so much at my new company Adore Me, it really has been quite the ride. Sometimes I'm just running around the city on errands for work and I just look up at the gorgeous buildings around Bryant Park or Grand Central Station, and I'm like wow this is insane. I live here. This all here. This is mine. I never get over the epic-ness of it all. I'm such a dreamer and such a kid, so these silly feelings never get old. I've dreamed of moving to NYC ever since I was in junior high school. I had this picture of what it would be like in my head and nothing yet has even come close to bursting my bubble. Hello, I met Josh Duhamel last night. I've gotten to know so many great people in the past two months and something of living here (I can't believe it's only been that short of a time), and that really is my favorite part of this place. The new connections I make with those who I feel confident to be myself and to push myself just a little bit further. I think that NYC has finally put me in my element and there's nothing I can say bad about that. Really there's not.

The other amazing thing about NYC? The fashion I see on the street on the daily. Personal style is fully embraced in this city and I never second guess myself anymore when it comes to what I decide to wear in the morning. I wear what I love. Itty bitty jumpers and all.

NYFW SS14 // Day Six

Lovers + Friends dress, Fossil purse, Vanessa Mooney necklace, Dr. Martens shoes, Free People sunglasses

YES! NYFW SS14 Day Six! I had shows for day seven, but my body physically hit its exhaustion point, and work was getting overwhelming so I had to get back to the office to start organizing my content and other everyday stuff. Never before have I been so wiped out and at the same time so invigorated by an experience before! But the tiredness was all well worth it. Catching subways and cabs uptown and downtown all day. Running between appointments. Meeting up with old and new friends. Trying to fit in a quick meal or two. Fitting in a moment to just stop and relax. It was a full six days of nonstop work, but I loved every second of it, and felt so thankful that my day job allowed me to be there, as well as for my blog. It felt super rewarding! Highlight of day 6? The Alon Livne show! A new Israeli designer with major talent!

Hold On When You Get Love and Let Go When You Give It

Free People tank, Denim & Supply by Ralph Lauren skirt, Vanessa Mooney bolero necklace, Boera silver necklace, Modern Vice Carly boots, Vintage Salvatore Ferragamo purse, Giles & Bro. leather bracelet

A throwback to one of the last most humid days of the summer. My inner most bohemian comes out to play the most during the summer. I thought it was all year round (hey I am originally a Free People girl), but already I see my style shifting to my pre-Philadelphia days, where I reached for colorful, sharp shouldered blazers instead of oversized kimonos. The place you live and your surrounding environment really does have the strongest influence on your style. But no matter what, a maxi skirt still holds tightly onto my heart. Ain't nothing gonna change about that. It's good to embrace change, as long as you feel good about it.

NYFW SS14 // Day Five

Of Two Minds dress, RD Style jacket, Modern Vice Carly boot, Vintage Salvatore Ferragamo bag, Vanessa Mooney necklaces

Stuck with a look that was easy breezy but that also felt sophisticated and pulled together for day five of NYFW. I can't believe that I'm still busting the fashion week posts out! I haven't had time to go through everything yet. Almost there, so please bare with me! Day five was a pretty busy one, and full of great presentations! We started the morning off early at the High Line Hotel for the SAUNDER presentation, which I will show you pictures of soon! We took some time afterwards to refuel with bagels before heading on to the All Saints presentation in Soho, which was absolutely stunning! The Falguni & Shane Peacock show was the highlight of the day. Every look that went down the runway seemed better suited for Lady Gaga or Beyonce, but I imagined myself wearing each one in some sort of spectacular situation that most likely will only be lived out in my dreams, but that is totally okay. The models were alien-esque beauties that seemed transported from the future in their white bobs and gazelle-like walks. Never before have I ever seen heavy embellishment and detailing played up in such an extravagant and intriguing way than at Falguni & Shane Peacock. I left the show stunned and far more open to embracing more sequins and intricate beadwork than normal. My inner starlet was totally in her element at this show :)

Here are some of my favorite looks from the show:

Ended the day with the Alice + Olivia presentation, which I showed you guys yesterday on the blog!
