Paige denim overalls, Lulus top

I think this spring will be my official season of the overall. For some reason, I haven't really jumped on this trend yet. I think it might have to do with the reason of it feeling a little over saturated to me, mixed with my inability to find a pair that really flattered my body. I'm a tall girl. And sometimes the sight of blue overalls give me flashbacks to when I was 5 years old and playing on a playground. Not the look I'm going for on a Friday night, if you know what I mean. But this black denim pair from Paige won my heart. Black is the new blue when it comes to overalls, eh? The look is just so versatile. I love that I can literally throw just about any top underneath this pair and I can be sure that it will work. Now that's a denim dream come true let me tell you.

I just came out of a very lovely weekend spent with friends. Friday night we went out pretty hard, so Saturday was pretty chill and the nonstop rain just made sure we kept it even more low key. Back to the grind again. But thank goodness I can now say that I am going to Coachella for work and some blog-related projects! Desert sun here I come . . .

SXSW // Rock On

A few lost snapshots that I took during SXSW when we saw Bad Things (Sean White's band) and Skaters play at the TIGI Absolut Texas party. Lots of head banging going on for sure. There's nothing I love more than live music. It just hits ya deep. You feel it in your bones.

Spring Fresh

Stylestalker top, Vintage jeans from Coyote Negro

Hello spring. You blossom in quite the loveliest of ways I must say :) Haven't been running hardly any sleep this past week because of a bunch of editing of pictures I shot for some projects. Hopefully this changes soon. Not the editing part, but the sleeping part.

Dark and Moody

Sometimes you just don't feel like stopping and smelling the roses. You really don't. And it's okay. Nothing is perfect. Not every single day needs to be spot on. Stumbling and falling along the way is okay. As long as you get back up again and brush yourself off. Periods of darkness and moodiness can sometimes be a good thing, helping us tap into what means the most to us and how our emotions are affected. Who are the people that we surround ourselves with that make us feel fantastic? Who are the one's that leave us feeling abandoned and alone? Who are the ones who make us feel absolutely confused and fickle? Do we wake up every morning loving what we do or absolutely dreading the hours to come? Do we live to dream or do we dream to live? Do we make our own decisions or do we allow others to make them for us? Do we speak our own minds or are we just puppets of our peers? Every day we are bombarded with questions and sometimes it takes the lowest of points to really answer them truthfully and whole heartedly. And hopefully turn the bad into something beautiful. Spring is nearly here NYC. It's been a long iceberg of a winter that never seems to want to go away. It's almost time to smell the roses once again, but it's okay to feel like you don't want to every now and then along the way. As long as you do at the end and that you appreciate the fact that they will always be there for you to smell whenever you want them.

Enjoy the inspiration of a darker side of the mood spectrum. But can't you see something hopeful blossoming in each picture if you look really close?

Velveteen Magic

Chaser Brand velvet kimono, Citizens of Humanity jeans, Frye boots, Vanessa Mooney and Free People cuffs, Filily by Luiny choker necklace and rings

Oh hey they spring! Oh they there! Oh wait, you're gone again. Ughhhh. NYC, can you be anymore confusing when it comes to the weather department? That teasing ain't nice at all. But I guess I'll take scattered spring days here and there for the time being as opposed to full blown winter. That shit cray. A more seasonally appropriate look from a few weeks back. I live for these sort of warm weekend days, where I can go out without anything weighing me down except for the camera around my neck. My goal for this season? To experiment more with photography! I'm rediscovering the art of the lomography camera that I used to play around with far too long ago. I think it's going to be the shooting tool of the summer. And this velvet kimono is going to carry me seamlessly through spring until summer officially arrives in all its sweaty and humid glamour. Now the big contemplation of the moment . . . is Coachella happening for me this year? We shall see!

SXSW Continued . . .

Always so much to see and so much to do in Austin. So many different characters all gathered in one place for the same reasons. Going around without a plan is the best way to jump into this city, and especially so during SXSW.
