Some of my street captures from one of my favorite parts of my trip to Puerto Rico . . . the Arts District of Santurce. Perfectly rugged, extremely modest, yet bursting with potential, this arts mecca is the new spot for Puerto Rico's young and creative crowd. It's just a a quick drive from the touristy Condado area, but the difference in aesthetic and general vibe was quite astounding. Design studios, galleries, music halls, exhibition spaces and art around every very corner and on every wall. You can breathe in and smell the creativity as soon as you set foot in this neighborhood. It's a place where artists started to come together to work and share their art just a few years ago, and the buzz just took off from there. In all the places I have visited in the world, I've always fallen the most in love with the neighborhoods brimming with color and covered with murals. Neighborhoods that openly promote having whatever the imagination decides to be plastered onto the side of a building to be brought to life. Philadelphia, Williamsburg/Bushwick, Venice. It inspires me to go home and create some art of my own.
